How does this speed test work?

Our speed test uses Cloudflare's global network to measure your internet speed. It downloads and uploads test data to the nearest Cloudflare server, which gives you an accurate measurement of your real-world internet speed.

Is this speed test free?

Yes, 100% free with no signup, no limits, and no hidden fees. You can test your internet speed as many times as you want.

Why are my results different from other speed tests?

Different speed tests use different servers and methodologies. Cloudflare's test uses their global edge network, which is very accurate. However, results can vary based on:

• Time of day (peak hours are slower)
• WiFi signal strength
• Other devices using your connection
• Server distance
• Background downloads/updates

What is a good internet speed?

It depends on your usage:

• Basic browsing: 5-10 Mbps
• HD streaming: 15-25 Mbps
• 4K streaming: 25-50 Mbps
• Gaming: 25-50 Mbps (with low ping)
• Multiple users: 100+ Mbps

What is Ping and Jitter?

Ping is the time it takes for data to travel from your device to the server and back, measured in milliseconds (ms). Lower is better. Jitter is the variation in ping times — high jitter causes laggy video calls and gaming.

Does this test use a lot of data?

Yes, a typical speed test uses around 50-100 MB of data. If you have a limited data plan, be careful about running multiple tests.

Is my data safe?

Yes. We don't store your test results or any personal information. The test runs entirely in your browser, and the data is sent directly to Cloudflare's servers (not to us).

Does it work on mobile?
